Golden Éire
Golden Éire, inspired by the clandestine affair between Cornelius Vanderbilt II and a maid during the Gilded Age, explores the duality of opulence and modesty. The collection draws from Irish tradition and Gilded Age grandeur, reflecting the life of their fictional daughter, Maeve. Raised humbly in Ireland, Maeve’s introduction to high society at sixteen inspires a narrative of contrasting worlds.
Rooted in my Irish heritage and fascination with the Gilded Age, this collection weaves the intricate patterns of Irish history with the lavish aesthetics of 19th-century America. Maeve, embodies the journey from a simple rural life to an opulent world. Each piece captures her transition, blending textures and colors that juxtapose rural authenticity with high-society extravagance, creating a dialogue between simplicity and splendor.
