My Story

     Welcome to Alison Smart Designs! My name is Alison Smart, and I’m from Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Growing up, fashion was not an obvious path for me; it was more of a distant dream than a tangible career option. However, as I approached the end of high school, my perspective shifted. I recognized a unique opportunity to combine my passion for creativity with a meaningful mission to contribute to environmental sustainability. This realization set me on a journey to pursue a career where art, innovation, and responsibility intersect.

     After studying Fashion Design and obtaining my BFA from SCAD, I am deeply committed to redefining how we approach fashion. My work focuses on pushing the boundaries of textile development and celebrating the art of craftsmanship. Each creation is thoughtfully designed to blend beauty, functionality, and sustainability. I aim to craft pieces that not only inspire confidence but also serve as a reminder that fashion can be a force for positive change in the world.

     My approach centers on creating inclusive and empowering designs for all, fostering a deeper connection between people, their clothing, and the environment.
